Clearer onboarding

A people-process approach that gives new colleagues a more understandable start.

Map the first experience

Look at the period before arrival, the first working day and the first weeks of responsibility. Identify what the new colleague needs to know and who can provide it. Information is useful only when it arrives at a time the person can act on it.

Connect the owners

HR, the manager and colleagues each hold part of the onboarding experience. Make their responsibilities visible and agree how progress is checked. A shared plan reduces the risk of important introductions or expectations being left to chance.

Listen and adjust

Ask new colleagues which information helped and what remained difficult to find. Use that feedback to improve the sequence rather than simply adding more material. Onboarding should help someone understand the work and the people around it.
