Organisation development
Help growing entrepreneurial companies make responsibilities and ways of working easier to understand.
Follow the work
Organisation development begins with how value moves through the business. Identify the decisions, handovers and relationships that make the work possible. An organisation chart is useful only when it reflects these responsibilities and the way people need to collaborate.
Clarify the difficult interfaces
Growth can leave responsibilities shared in name but unclear in practice. Discuss where decisions are made, who needs to contribute and who is accountable for the outcome. Make the agreements specific enough that people can use them in an ordinary working week.
Introduce change deliberately
A new structure changes expectations as well as reporting lines. Explain the reason, prepare managers for questions and create a route for feedback. Review the effect after people have worked with the new arrangement, rather than treating the announcement as the end of the change.
